The morning dawned bright and sunny, and Nanea had set the alarm clock for an early wake-up call. Everything had to be just perfect for her friend's visit, and there was a lot to do. The birds were singing "Gitty uppy, rise and shine!" Nanea did a few extra stretches, and it was off at a run . . . "Get up, Benny, she'll be here soon! And don't forget to make your bed!" (It's really just a hammock, but Benny rubbed his eyes open and talked himself into getting out of "bed".)
Benny slipped on his nifty new Shark Shoes and took Polynesia out for her morning perch on the palm tree, while Nanea fixed his morning Coconut Smoothie breakfast. Flossie and Aulani (the pet turtle) were already waddling around the yard and ready for their food, too. "Oh, this is going to be SUCH a fun day!"
"Just whistle while you work . . . " Time to dust all the souvenirs and knickknacks. Even the Disney pin board needed a bit of dusting, and the new feather duster was making the job easier than before. (Flossie wasn't very keen about Nanea's feather duster. Something about it disturbed her. Hmm. Then Benny sat down and explained to her that they don't actually use chicken feathers to make them. Have you ever heard a chicken sigh with relief? It's very soft, and you have to be real close to hear it, but Flossie sighed.) "Dust, dust, dust. I just LOVE cleaning my house!"
Aloha, and check back soon for more Islandshire fun!
