Brighton and I have never had a chance to spin together, and this was the perfect opportunity to compare spinning styles. I've always maintained that the spinning wheel was faster, but Brighton is dead set on the idea that a drop spindle is the best. This is going to be so much fun!
It seemed like we'd only been talking for a minute or two, when I looked over to where Brighton was standing and saw that she already had a whole lot of spun yarn on her spindle. I couldn't believe my eyes! "Wow! You are fast! I'm sure we'll be able to get this done for the Bazaar, after all."
Despite the suggestion that she just add a donation to the campaign collection tins that would be all over the Community Center, Brighton continued packing it all up. I knew she wasn't taking me seriously. "It'll be a lot more fun to buy it at the bazaar. I collect Wool Week memories, you know." I decided to drop a private hint to Mabel that she should just mark it SOLD and leave it on display. That way, it might inspire someone else to take up drop-spindle spinning, and my friend wouldn't be disappointed when someone else bought it out from under her.
