Mom was browsing through Craig's List and found a listing for a tag sale in Columbus that mentioned AG dolls and stuff. She called the number listed and talked to the gent running the sale. There were some dolls, Bitty Babies and various clothes/accessories. We decided to wake up extra early and get down there at opening time --- even though it was a pretty far drive. We did fabulously! The sale was quite poorly organized, and no sets were together. Half the items were spread around upstairs in the house, and all the dolls and clothes were spread around the basement. In the end, we went back the following day and managed to get the "missing" items that we hadn't found before when the sale was marked down 20% and then 50%!
- We got Felicity's table and chairs for a bit under $60.00.
- Marisol and Elizabeth were $40.00 each (Elizabeth has never been undressed and her hair style is totally original. This was fun, because my sister (also named Elizabeth) has wanted this doll for years . . . and we've never actually seen one!
- Bitty Twin and Baby dolls were $10.00 each. This was super exciting, because we've wanted to be able to fix some up and give them to younger girls. Particularly younger sisters, when we are sending 18" dolls to the older sisters in a family. I've just started cleaning them up, and we'll figure out how we are setting them up to give away!
- Lots of Bitty clothes. The original meet rompers for all of them are in there, along with the various outfits shown (I'm not up on the Bitty outfit names). There were two Bitty Bears in there, which is cool. It would be nice to give a Bitty Bear to each little girl that gets a Bitty doll! There were also three of the matching girl-sized pieces to go along with the Bitty outfits. All of the clothes pieces were just piled in mixed bins and baskets of stuff, so we dug out as much as we could find. Missing a mitten and boots from one of the Bitty snow outfits and the shoes from the green/blue striped twin play outfit. Other than that, I think we came pretty close to finding all the pieces. I think.
- The burgundy velvet dress for girl, Bitty and matching Bitty Bear was $12.00.
- Butterfly costume for Bitty and Bitty Bear was $6.00.
- The girl who had all of this stuff must have had Marisol's Whole World Collection. We got everything from the whole world set except for the majority of pieces from the little set that included Marisol's cat and travel bag. The only piece left from that set was the luggage tag. Other than that, I think we got everything else Marisol! Got the trunk filled with the dance outfits for $12.00. The shiny hat and cane were $2.00. The sparkly doll stand was $6.00. A bunch of her little sticky earrings and hair stuff, etc., had come in the box with part of Felicity's tea set.
- Even got the books for Marisol and Elizabeth for $1.00 each. Elizabeth's book was still in the plastic insert from the box and had the little trading card pack with it.
All in all, this was just an amazing experience and not your everyday tag sale!
